Does Alex Fletcher prefer Brookside or Hollyoaks?

We all know and love Alex from her time on two of Britain’s best-loved soaps, Brookside and Hollyoaks. She took some time to chat to fellow Brookie star Sam Kane and he grilled her with some of the toughest questions on-air!

SK: McDonalds or KFC?
AF: KFC

SK: Favourite place in England and why?
AF: Abersoch, the beaches are just beautiful!

SK: Favourite song and why?
AF: Bananarama, but what’s the name of the song?! I can’t remember!

SK: Favourite place in the world and why?
AF: Barbados. We honeymooned there and I’ve got the most beautiful memories of it.

SK: Any siblings?
AF: Yes, our Brad!

SK: Who do you miss most and why?
AF: Aw, my ninny nan. My ninny nan passed away 18 months ago, I’m looking at her picture right now on the fireplace. She was an absolute legend, she was a really strong woman and she had 8 kids. I admire her so much, how the hell do you have 8 kids!

SK: Mike Dixon or Ron Dixon?
AF: Arghhhh, it’s gotta be Ron Dixon… Just because of the haircut!

SK: Scone as in cone or scone as in gone?
AF: Scone as in gone!

SK: And do you put the jam or cream on first?
AF: Well they don’t do them in Greggs like that…! I just have it how it comes!
SK: What, have you never had a cream tea? Do you just stick butter on it?!
AF: Yeah it’s just not my thing. But I’d probably put the jam on first and then the cream?

SK: Who is your hero and why?
AF: Dame Helen Mirren.

SK: What did you want to do when you grew up? You grew up on-screen but was there anything else?
AF: Well I was a dancer, but I genuinely don’t know. I got my first acting contract at 12 and that’s all I’ve ever done, it’s all I know.

SK: Your exam results when you left school, what were they?
AF: Well, my general knowledge is shocking, I missed loads of school because I was so young and I was doing Brookie. My maths was horrendous, I got a D!

SK: Do you still see any of your school friends?
AF: Yeah I do. I’ve still got all my same school mates.

SK: This is going to be a tough one. Brookside or Hollyoaks?
AF: Oh god! I’ve gotta say Brookie because without it, where would I be now? I wouldn’t have Hollyoaks.

SK: Here’s an easier one for you. Summer or winter?
AF: The summer.

SK: Fish and chips or a curry?
AF: Ahh, I do love a curry…

SK: A dog or a cat?
AF: Dogs, all day! I’ve never had cats – I don’t really trust them, they just bin you off don’t they, whereas at least a dog pretends he likes you!

SK: Sweet or savoury?
AF: Savoury all day, every day. That’s why the scone question threw me, I haven’t really got a sweet tooth. I love a good pasty, cheese and onion pasties, they’re the best!

SK: Everton or Liverpool?
AF: Liverpool, all day!

SK: ITV, BBC or Channel 4?
AF: I’ve gotta say Channel 4, my whole career has basically been with them.

SK: Who is the most famous person in your phone?
AF: Oh god I can’t think! It’s probably you, Sam!

SK: Alive or dead, who would you love to meet?
AF: I think it’s got to be Madonna!

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Alex Fletcher thanks to our Quick Fire Questions! Who predicted that she’d pick Brookie over Hollyoaks?
